The core objectives for the establishment of the IAT in 1966 was to impart learning and education to its members. Since that time, the UK construction has changed significantly. Many key drivers have changed which influence how we undertake our business. The core objectives of the Institute, however, have never changed but are maybe more relevant now than for a long time. With the current skills shortage, the need to attract young people into the industry and their desire to become ‘professionally’ recognised, the task of the Education Committee is not to meet the needs of the current market requirements but the future market requirements.
