| More details | TII Publications, Management of Skid Resistance AM-PAV-06045 and Surfacing Materials for New and Maintenance Construction for use in Ireland AM- PAV-03023 set out the methodology by which the national roads skidding resistance is managed. They effectively establish a methodology for managing the varying demands for friction on the network set out by event categories and how it is supplied. For an asphalt mix the current TII approach to deliver the requisite performance is through specification of the aggregate. A pending method within EN Standards is the Friction After Polishing test (EN 12697 Pt 49). This technical talk will outline how TII is preparing for this Standard.” |
