More details NappiCycle was founded 12 years ago and is the first and only fully operational nappy recycling plant globally.

NappiCycle currently processes 12,000 tonnes of nappy waste annually; equivalent to ~61.5 million individual nappies. Our unique and patented process recovers the cellulose and polymers from the nappies and transforms them into high-value end products; creating a circular economy and an end of life treatment for this waste stream that is 84% lower in carbon emissions than the traditional disposal routes of incineration and landfill.

Our key output are composite fibre pellets (~50% cellulose and ~50% PP/PE) which are used as a bitumen modifier in SMA. The composite fibre pellets homogenise the bitumen and the aggregate within SMA; preventing binder drainage and enhancing road surface durability.
