We are an Affiliate of Engineering Council and have an approved agreement with the Chartered Institution of Highways & Transportation (CIHT) to use their CEng/IEng/Engtech process for our members.
We have a team of approved IAT assessors who evaluate the portfolio of evidence and carry out assessment according to the CIHT methodology. CIHT carry out the administration service. Fees are according to the CIHT requirements, there is an extra over for IAT members to cover the extra administration however the IAT is happy to cover this cost for its members.
The joint branded guidance for members is still under development however you can begin the process using the CIHT documentation. Typically, applicants will have successfully completed an Advanced/Modern Apprenticeship or other work based learning programme approved by their professional engineering institution. This can lead directly to Engineering Technician registration.
